The Surges of the Spring Tide
About
The Surges of the Spring Tide is an improvised work built from a deliberate misuse of DDSP technology. DDSP is typically designed to transform one specific timbre into another through AI-based modeling. In this project, I instead fed the plugin's built-in instrument noises (such as bow noise and wind breath noise) back into the plugin after heavy gain boost, creating unstable recursive generation.
Process
Inside the plugin, I continuously changed input and output instrument timbres while fine-tuning parameters by dragging a point on a two-dimensional control plane. This produced unpredictable and uncontrollable sonic forms. The piece was performed through improvisational operation based on this volatile system.
